Description


The Kutubu Foe Women Association represents the voice of the women of Kutubu in the highlands ofPapua New Guinea. It is a regional organization established as a vehicle to address developmentneeds, economical concerns and social issues faced by the women in the rural communities and buildtheir capacity to facilitate sustainable community development initiatives. To do that, it takes aparticipatory approach to human and community development with a holistic perspective. It attempts to boost its targets' morale and motivation by helping them discover, cultivate, amplify and sustain their strengths and capture opportunities.The association is made up of affiliated women groups including local church fellowships and council wards from the Foe speaking population in the Kutubu area of Nipa-Kutubu District, Southern Highlands Province. KFWA works closely in collaboration with the government agencies, NGOS, churches and local institutions and the resource developer to source financial, materials and skills expertise for capacity building.


KFWA will serve the rural women impacted by the Oil and Gas Development projects in the Kutubu Foespeaking communities by working in partnership with development partners to achieve sustainabledevelopment in order to improve the livelihood of the women.
