1st ever Mushroom Festival, Goroka

The Kerefa Women’s Association will be facilitating the 1st every Goroka Mushroom Festival. It will be over 2-days Tuesday 26th and Wednesday 27th August, 2025.
It will be the first of its kind as a way of bringing everyone involved in oyster mushroom production together – farmers, distributors, retailers and people who are doing the seed production.

Most supermarkets are now retailing the local oyster mushrooms.

The Mushroom festival hopes to become an annual event whereby people come to attend, buy and they make connections. It will become a business platform avenue for everyone involved in in the production of oyster mushrooms to make awareness, create market and promote mushroom farming.
The festival is being registered with the National Cultural Commission to be included as part of the annual events calendar.

The Mushroom festival will also be an opportuntiy for other agri-farmers and agri-businesses to promote their products – honey, jam and others.

For those who would like to be part of the event through exhibition or sponsorship towards the event do contact Kerefa Women’s Association Inc.
